Hawk Island

Access to the Hawk Island area in Manchester starts from the north on Hawk Island Road off of State Hwy 27 just south of the Black River Falls Airport. Head west and you'll follow the south border of the Airport property which is the north town line. Before you take a sharp left turn, to the south you will see the old Mathy gravel pit. Just around that corner is one of the countryside's well populated NWTF turkey preserves. A little further and you'll come to the eddie at Scantleton Rd. "Scantys" is a well known fishing spot where the locals like to wet a line. There is a state canoe landing Wisconsin state forest Site that puts you in at the Island on the Black River. It is a very pretty drive by the Black river and through the country down Hawk Island road, ending the almost four mile trek at Robinson Road.
